What fun is success if you can’t share it? Here at SBG, we firmly believe that we have a responsibility to our community.
Giving Granola is a recipe that was created using organic tropical dried fruit from Fruandes (sister company to Level Ground Trading) in Colombia. Many of the women who work at Fruandes to prepare the fruit have survived harrowing conditions in their home villages, but are now finding their feet through their work with this company. In recognition of these amazing women and what they have been through, we share the profits from Giving Granola with them. We appreciate this opportunity to connect with the people who provide us with these delicious ingredients and we are happy to be able to help the women with their housing needs.
You don’t have to look far to find people who are not as lucky as we are. Inspired by the amazing Reverend Allen Tysick of the Dandelion Society, we have started donating freshly baked oatmeal cookies once a month for Reverend Al to distribute to the homeless members of our community.

Closer to home, we wanted to contribute to our own community and so, in collaboration with The Blue Heron Advisory Group, we created the SBG Porridge Project. With their generous financial contribution, we are able make monthly deliveries of organic cinnamon & raisin porridge to more than a dozen schools in our local School District 61. In 2016 we delivered almost 9,000 servings to students who are coming to school hungry.
