Giving Back to Our Community

What fun is success if you can’t share it? Here at Singing Bowl Granola, we firmly believe that we have a responsibility to our community.

Porridge for Hungry Children

As a former teacher, childhood poverty deeply concerns me. In collaboration with The Blue Heron Advisory Group, we created the SBG Porridge Project.
featured here on Chek News. With their generous financial contribution, we are able make monthly deliveries of organic cinnamon & raisin porridge to more than a dozen schools in our local School District. Since 2016 we have delivered over 40,000 servings per year to students who are coming to school hungry.

Healthy Cookies for the Homeless

You don’t have to look far to find people who are not as lucky as we are.

We have teamed up with the wonderful people from Old Soul Jam Co. to provide Our Place Society's Dandelion Street Outreach with regular donations of delicious and nutritious Share Squares - healthy granola-fruit bars made with our Mega Medley and Old Soul’s jam.  Every morning, the outreach crew bring sustenance to the unhoused members of our community, and we are thrilled to be able to make this valuable contribution towards nourishing our community.  If you wish to support Mission Share Square, you can help cover the ingredients costs by donating here.

This follows the retirement of the amazing Reverend Allen Tysick from his amazing outreach work of many years

Profit Sharing with our Fruit Producers

Giving Granola is a recipe that was created using organic tropical dried fruit from Fruandes (sister company to Level Ground Trading) in Colombia.  Many of the women who work at Fruandes to prepare the fruit have survived harrowing conditions in their home villages, but are now finding their feet through their work with this company.  In recognition of these amazing women and what they have been through, we share the profits from Giving Granola with them.  We appreciate this opportunity to connect with the people who provide us with these delicious ingredients and we are happy to be able to help the women with their housing needs.
